Ingredients

cup
masoor dal or musur dal or red lentils
soaked in water for about an hr
1
green mango
peeled and thinly sliced
1/2
tsp
turmeric powder
1/2
tsp
black mustard seeds
2-3
dry red chilies

tbsp
mustard oil
sugar
to taste
salt
to taste
Instructions
Pressure cook the soaked dal with 2 cups of water, a sprinkle of salt, a pinch of turmeric powder.
Heat the mustard oil, temper with black mustard seeds and dry red chilies.
Add the sliced raw mangoes, a sprinkle of salt, cook over a medium flame till the mangoes are soft.
Add the remaining turmeric powder, saute for a minute or so. Pour in the pressure-cooked dal, simmer gently for 5-6 minutes.
Add salt and sugar to taste. Serve cold or at room temperature.
